This potting soil is more expensive than the big box stores, but once you try it, you will see that up to now you have been potting your plants in the soil equivalent of juiced-up concrete (I'm looking at you, Miracle Grow.). But be careful: if you plant *one* plant in this potting soil, every other potted plant in your house will start whining at you to repot them as well. And if you have as many plants as I do, you will be reordering this soil every week.

My favorite plant shop recommended Mother to me when my Tacca Chantrieri was really struggling. Overnight after planting it perked right up, and now a few weeks later there is lots of new growth. I also potted a “rescue” staghorn fern in Mother Soil and it has sprouted new fronds and is no longer floppy. None of the other conditions have changed, so it really is the soil.
